Start with loss.  

The loss of a friend.

The loss of safety in Mom and Dad.  

The loss of innocence.  The loss of a book.  

A favorite recipe.  

The way you looked at me on top of Mount Mitchall at Sunset.  

The loss of love.  

Losing one’s self.  

I kiss my cousin goodbye as he goes off to start is new job 

in alameda.

Lose love

find it

Lose yourself

find something bigger

lose hope

find freedom

lose everything

only to discover that this was all a dream

Move to Philly as a twenty-something

Read in again in your thirties

Transcend the moon

Lose a sense of place.

find home in the arms of a friend.

The unknown becomes more familiar than my own heart
